Fashion is a fast-moving business - what is trendy today may be old news tomorrow. The jewelry industry is also exposed to these rapid changes. Colors and shapes change at short intervals. Only a few styles manage to establish themselves as classics such as rose gold. Today, it is impossible to imagine the jewelry collections of leading manufacturers without this iconic shade of color.

Electroplating of precious metals is a popular process for the jewelry industry as it allows companies to create attractive, elegant and highly desirable surfaces in a more economical way. As an integral part of design, electroplated finishes inspire the creativity of designers with a wide range of properties and colors and open up unlimited possibilities for their design ideas.

This webinar will provide an overview of a typical plating process sequence and the steps required to achieve an attractive gold surface. We will introduce our state-of-the-art rose gold process - Orolux® 800 C and discuss the possibilities of influencing the coating to modify the final appearance and present industry requirements for such coatings.
  • Overview of a typical gold layer sequence and the function of the individual steps
  • Introduction to rose gold - a timeless classic
  • Industry reliability testing methods
  • Tarnish prevention
