Most previously, he served as the senior tax executive and Treasurer for the Westervelt Company (formerly Gulf States Paper Corporation) and had responsibility for the tax oversight of the company’s 500,000 acres of timberland, timber activities and land transactions in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia.

He is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Masters of Tax Accounting and also holds a Bachelors in Accounting from Athens State University.
