Join us for a discussion on what it means to be diverse and inclusive. Listen to the experience of others, share your own experiences, and explore what diversity and inclusion mean for your own organisation.

This interactive session is ideal for anyone who is interested in talking about how we can make sure our social enterprises are accessible to all and reflect the communities around us and the people that we work with and for.

  • Heather Paterson from SayiT and Sheffield LGBT+ Multi-Agency Network will Share her work and what diversity means to those she's working with
  • Sahira Irshad from Mums United will talk about what diversity and inclusivity means for our young people and the next generations in our communities.
  • Pennie Raven of Soup Sheffield and Pecha Kucha will explore how as social enterprises, businesses, and organisations and communities, we can make sure we are diverse and inclusive.
  • There will be an opportunity for questions and answers and build on the discussions started.

Heather is the Chief Executive Officer of LGBT+ youth charity SAYiT. Before taking on the role of Chief Exec, Heather worked on Call It Out, a South Yorkshire wide project working to improve access to mainstream domestic abuse services for LGBT+ people. Heather has a broad background in working in LGBT+, women's, and equality organisations, and is an experienced trainer working with organisations in both the statutory and voluntary sectors around improving the inclusion of marginalised groups.

Reset2020 webinar platform hosts Inclusion and Diversity: How do we stay diverse and inclusive?
Join us for Reset2020: Festival for Social Enterprise

We are excited to be bringing you this online festival that will celebrate the social enterprises in the Sheffield City Region whilst exploring how we can come together as a sector to reset and move forward successfully.

The week will start with an opening session, on Monday 16th November, that will include input from the Social Enterprise Exchange partners and Social Enterprise UK. We invite everyone to sign up to this session.

This will be followed by a series of sessions that will take place from the afternoon of Monday 16th - Wednesday 18th November. These sessions will be focused on different sectors and types of organisations, with the aim of sharing practice, case studies, and creating discussions to encourage learning and collaboration. Register for as many of these sessions that you feel are relevant to you or your organisation.

International Social Enterprise Day will be on Thursday 19th November, and we will be hosting panel sessions that will include input from Social Enterprise UK, Keyfund, South Yorkshire's Community Foundation as well as others influencing key issues throughout the region, including, diversity, health and social care and the environment. You will need to sign up for both panel sessions in order to take part in the whole of the Thursday programme. We welcome everyone to sign up for this day. Click on the series tab on this page to sign up for the Monday morning session and both Thursday sessions with one registration.

The week will finish with networking and learning groups on the Friday 20th November. Sign up for the session that suits you to join others in the sector to discuss what you have learned throughout the week and seek ways forward.

Fringe Events: We want to celebrate the social enterprises in our region. One of the ways we will be doing this is through various fringe sessions running throughout the week. Keep an eye on the discussion part of this page to take part in sessions with other social enterprises.
