Join us to learn from social enterprises in our region that have continued to plan, strategise, and even grow during this period. Be inspired by their resilience and take part in a wider discussion that could help you to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

  • Gareth Roberts will talk to us about the Sustainable Food Places Partnership in Sheffield (ShefFood) and the collaboration that is happening to develop a fair, health and sustainable food system.
  • Chris Hanson and Justin Rowntree will be sharing about the journey of Blend Kitchen during this period, and how they have worked to get a whole community of business people behind them.

Coordination Lead, ShefFood - Sheffield's Food Partnership
Gareth Roberts is leading on innovative economic and social change, and local food system transformation in Sheffield and South Yorkshire. He is passionate about cooperation, and has worked collaboratively with people from all walks of life for over 20 years. His various experiences as an arts administrator, event manager, lecturer and serial social entrepreneur bring useful skills and resilience to the wider Sheffield social economy.

Gareth is a co-founder of Regather in Sheffield where he led the enterprise start up in 2005 and incorporation as a co-op in 2010. More recently over the past 5 years Gareth has led various strategic developments for Regather, including promoting the role of urban agriculture and productive landscapes in community economic development and helping to create Regather Farm, a 15 acre peri-urban, organic market garden and agroforestery development in the Moss Valley, NE Derbyshire.

Gareth is also a co-founder and Coordination Lead of ShefFood, the Sustainable Food Places partnership for Sheffield. ShefFood is connecting a wide range of regional partners, including Good Food Barnsley, Doncaster Food Network and the University of Sheffield's Institute for Sustainable Food, and working at a local and regional level to develop a more fair, healthy and sustainable food system for Sheffield, and South Yorkshire.

After a 10 year career in Human Resources & recruitment, Justin moved into the hospitality industry leading Silversmiths to win a host of local, regional and national awards. Exiting Silversmiths in 2017, Justin has retrained as a life coach and now runs the successful hospitality consultancy business, In The SweetSpot. Justin is currently working for Blend Kitchen, managing the fit out and launch of their brand new Ecclesall Road site and provides business mentoring and support to the Blend Kitchen team.

The social enterprise that provide training and employment opportunities for some of the most marginalised people in society, has secured the backing of some of Sheffield's most successful businesses. Reset2020 webinar platform hosts Sector Session: Food and Hospitality
Join us for Reset2020: Festival for Social Enterprise

We are excited to be bringing you this online festival that will celebrate the social enterprises in the Sheffield City Region whilst exploring how we can come together as a sector to reset and move forward successfully.

The week will start with an opening session, on Monday 16th November, that will include input from the Social Enterprise Exchange partners and Social Enterprise UK. We invite everyone to sign up to this session.

This will be followed by a series of sessions that will take place from the afternoon of Monday 16th - Wednesday 18th November. These sessions will be focused on different sectors and types of organisations, with the aim of sharing practice, case studies, and creating discussions to encourage learning and collaboration. Register for as many of these sessions that you feel are relevant to you or your organisation.

International Social Enterprise Day will be on Thursday 19th November, and we will be hosting panel sessions that will include input from Social Enterprise UK, Keyfund, South Yorkshire's Community Foundation as well as others influencing key issues throughout the region, including, diversity, health and social care and the environment. You will need to sign up for both panel sessions in order to take part in the whole of the Thursday programme. We welcome everyone to sign up for this day. Click on the series tab on this page to sign up for the Monday morning session and both Thursday sessions with one registration.

The week will finish with networking and learning groups on the Friday 20th November. Sign up for the session that suits you to join others in the sector to discuss what you have learned throughout the week and seek ways forward.

Fringe Events: We want to celebrate the social enterprises in our region. One of the ways we will be doing this is through various fringe sessions running throughout the week. Keep an eye on the discussion part of this page to take part in sessions with other social enterprises.
