Join us with Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber, Social Enterprise Mark, and Social Enterprise UK as we open our festival week and celebrate the social enterprises in the region, sharing your successes and resilience.

We will be joined by these great organisations, who will share with us a wider sector view of the last six months and how social enterprises are coping and going above and beyond, both nationally and regionally.

Managing Director of Social Enterprise Mark CIC
Lucy has played a leading role in the UK social enterprise sector pretty much since the phrase was first coined. She is the founding Managing Director of Social Enterprise Mark CIC, the international social enterprise accreditation authority.


Lucy is publicly recognised as a key player in the sector and over the last ten years has developed the Social Enterprise Mark from a regional project to an internationally available accreditation, providing a clear standard for the social enterprise sector and added social value. She has been recognised through sector awards, as well as mainstream business awards. She was also appointed an MBE in the 2019 Queen’s New Year Honours, in recognition of her contribution to the social enterprise sector.

Director of Research, Social Enterprise UK
Emily leads research, data and evidence work at SEUK. She has focused on research into inclusive and sustainable business for the last 15 years, working in corporate social responsibility at RICS, youth business support at the Prince’s Trust and she set up a global social enterprise research programme at thinktank ODI. She’s worked directly with social enterprises on impact measurement and data collection, with UnLtd’s research team and has led research on green growth, core business engagement on social issues, job creation and rural livelihoods across Africa and Asia.

Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber
Ali has worked in the social enterprise sector for the last 18 years, prior to this she worked for private sector organisations ranging from small to multi international organisations. Social enterprise is her passion, and she aims to see every social enterprise, their leaders, staff, volunteers and beneficiaries meet their potential and flourish. Ali is also involved with a number of organisations by being a trustee, specially around one of her other passions the reuse sector. Her recent work with Seagulls can be understood as their motto is ”We Grow People” and this is what Ali wants for everyone. Her passion to work with and support social enterprises led to win Social Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019.
As the lead for Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber Ali embodies all that is great in the social enterprise sector. For the last 18 years her roles have been in the sector from working directly with people in need and now being a champion for the sector. She works to represent, and promote social enterprises across the region.

Reset2020 webinar platform hosts Opening Session: Monday 16th November
Join us for Reset2020: Festival for Social Enterprise

We are excited to be bringing you this online festival that will celebrate the social enterprises in the Sheffield City Region whilst exploring how we can come together as a sector to reset and move forward successfully.

The week will start with an opening session, on Monday 16th November, that will include input from the Social Enterprise Exchange partners and Social Enterprise UK. We invite everyone to sign up to this session.

This will be followed by a series of sessions that will take place from the afternoon of Monday 16th - Wednesday 18th November. These sessions will be focused on different sectors and types of organisations, with the aim of sharing practice, case studies, and creating discussions to encourage learning and collaboration. Register for as many of these sessions that you feel are relevant to you or your organisation.

International Social Enterprise Day will be on Thursday 19th November, and we will be hosting panel sessions that will include input from Social Enterprise UK, Keyfund, South Yorkshire's Community Foundation as well as others influencing key issues throughout the region, including, diversity, health and social care and the environment. You will need to sign up for both panel sessions in order to take part in the whole of the Thursday programme. We welcome everyone to sign up for this day. Click on the series tab on this page to sign up for the Monday morning session and both Thursday sessions with one registration.

The week will finish with networking and learning groups on the Friday 20th November. Sign up for the session that suits you to join others in the sector to discuss what you have learned throughout the week and seek ways forward.

Fringe Events: We want to celebrate the social enterprises in our region. One of the ways we will be doing this is through various fringe sessions running throughout the week. Keep an eye on the discussion part of this page to take part in sessions with other social enterprises.
