Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis in the knee. Knee osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease of the knee, is typically the result of wear and tear and progressive loss of articular cartilage. It is most common in the elderly. Treatment for knee osteoarthritis begins with conservative methods and progresses to surgical treatment options when conservative treatment fails.
The ‘Fellowship in Orthopedics Rehabilitation‘ course is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies to organize, manage and deliver an Orthopedics Rehabilitation program within a hospital /community setting. It prepares the students to work in the area of orthopedic injuries as well as primary prevention of metabolic and joint diseases specifically in later stages of rehabilitation.
