Nephrotic syndrome is encountered quite frequently in the pediatric outpatient setting. Most patients have multiple relapses, placing them at risk for steroid toxicity, systemic infections and other complications. A small proportion of patients who are not steroid sensitive are also at risk for similar complications and renal insufficiency. Appropriate diagnosis and management helps in improving patient’s quality of life. A thorough knowledge of Pediatrics will give you a better understanding of Nephrotic syndrome and help patients better.
The Fellowship in Pediatrics course enables the students to study a broad range of basics, translational and clinical science related to child health, including major strengths on Infectious Diseases, vaccines, developmental immunology and haematology, neurosciences and gastroenterology. This course also helps in understanding evidence-based diagnostic and treatment plans for children by formulating appropriate testing and treatment strategies for children.
