Peter Hughan is Director, Head of Internal Specialist Teams John Hancock Investment Management. Mr. Hughan is responsible for leading a team of 529 Sales Specialists, working with the Education Trust of Alaska as state sponsor and T. Rowe Price as the program manager. Mr. Hughan also partners with the National Accounts team from John Hancock Investment Management to work with the home offices of our broker dealer partners to increase knowledge and exposure for college savings plans. He also works with the specialist teams covering RIA’s, Separately Managed Accounts and UCITS.
Prior to this role Mr. Hughan was an Internal Sales Manager working with the Wirehouse and Independent Financial Planner channels and an Internal Wholesaler responsible for the distribution of retail investment products, separate accounts and retirement services in Georgia and South Carolina.
Mr. Hughan joined John Hancock in 2003. Prior to assuming his role with John Hancock, Mr. Hughan worked with MFS Investment management.
Mr. Hughan is Series 6, 7, 24, 26, 51, 63 and 65 licensed. He is also a Certified Investment Management Analyst, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and holds is MBA from Babson College.
Mr Hughan lives in Norwell, MA with his wife Allison, son John who is 10 and daughter Emmeline who is 6. He enjoys golf and boating in the summer on Cape Cod with his family and skiing in Vermont in the winter.
