WK05: Interpretation Guidelines for Clinical Relevance of Patient-Reported Outcome (PRO) Measures

Dr Kim Cocks has worked in the PRO field for over 25 years as a clinical trial statistician and methodologist in both the pharmaceutical industry and academia. She is currently a Director and Principal Statistician in the Patient-Centered Outcomes team at Adelphi Values in the UK. She is an active member of the EORTC Quality of Life Group, involved in the development of new modules and methodological projects. Her PhD used novel methodology to determine evidence-based interpretation guidelines for the commonly used EORTC QLQ-C30 cancer instrument, highlighting the need for more in-depth interpretation guidelines, taking account of both the subscale and direction of change, rather than utilizing a single threshold for clinical meaning.
