Why God Lets Bad Things Happen

(The Theology of Deliverance)

Presented by Steve Wittmann of the International College of Ministry on Tuesday, April 28th , 2015
at 8:00pm Eastern / 7:00pm Central.

This Free Live Web Class is approximately 60 minutes in length.

You are invited to come join ICM College for Hot Topic Night. This week's topic is Why God Lets Bad Things Happen (The Theology of Deliverance).

Luk 4:18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,"

If Jesus came to “set free those who are oppressed” and to release the captives, then why are there so many born again believers still living in bondage?

In Christ, believers are free from the law, but that does not mean we are free to break the law. There are consequences to breaking God's law that directly affects one's freedom. God's word is the law that governs bondage and freedom for both believers as well as the fallen world. Understanding the power of God's word not only brings freedom but also equips God's people to stand firm against evil in the world.

In this free one-hour presentation, we will discuss the following questions before inviting questions from the audience.

✓ What is deliverance?
✓ Who is deliverance for?
✓ Who is called to deliverance?
✓ If whomever the Son sets free is free indeed, why do believers still live in bondage?
✓ Is salvation and freedom one in the same?
✓ What is the law that binds?
✓ How can believers use this binding law to live in freedom?
✓ How can the binding law equip believers to serve the Kingdom of God?

This will be a public forum so please understand that your questions and answers can be seen. However you can login with an anonymous name or simply your first name for autonomy.

ICM's Hot Topic nights are special topics presented free of charge and open to the public. Participation is encouraged through questions and discussion.
