Janelle Crandell is a Deputy District Attorney with the Amador County District Attorney’s Office. Since 2009, Janelle has been assigned as the lead prosecutor for the Insurance Fraud Unit, handling cases involving both Workers’ Compensation Insurance Fraud and Automobile Insurance Fraud. Although based in Amador County, the Insurance Fraud Unit is a unique multi-county program which prosecutes in Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Mariposa and Stanislaus Counties. Prior to 2015, the program also included Placer County. Janelle received her Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She holds a B.A. degree in Journalism from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Prior to her career with the Amador County District Attorney’s Office, Janelle practiced personal injury civil litigation for five years with a firm in Sacramento.
