About This Webinar

One of the biggest concerns teachers of mathematics have is that many students have little number sense and are not fluent in adding and subtracting. These skills are crucial to a student's future success in mathematics, so it's important to build a strong foundation in PreK - 2nd Grade. We will explore a medley of engaging math games and math routines that will have your students learning and having fun. Chances are - you'll have fun too!

Math Specialist
Robyn spent the first 6 years of her career in education working at College Heights Early Learning Center in Decatur, GA where she taught Pre-K. It was during this time that she fell in love with the idea of teaching through play. While teaching Pre-K, she earned her Master's degree in K-8 Mathematics from the University of Georgia. In 2017, her family moved back to her hometown of Madison, Mississippi, where she currently serves as a Pre-K - 2nd grade Math Specialist. While she never imagined leaving the classroom, she loves working with teachers and students alike to build understanding of mathematics. Robyn is also a wife and mother to 3 little boys. They enjoy spending time reading and playing lots of math-y games together.

Global Math Department webinar platform hosts Games and Routines for Building Number Sense and Fluency
The Global Math Department began as a group of teachers who knew each other through Twitter, math education blogs and Twitter Math Camp. Since 2012 The Global Math Department community has grown into a multi-faceted group of math educators who love to share their ideas related to teaching and learning mathematics. We recognize that as educators we are charged with promoting equity and access within mathematics instruction. In addition, we believe it is crucial that teachers be provided with quality resources and ideas that they can use immediately with their students. Lively and friendly conversations in our weekly webinars encourage all participants to share and continue to grow as educators.
