Monique Wingard is a multimedia journalist, covering civic-technology, and a consultant helping large and small businesses understand digital media and how to use it effectively.

Based in Chicago, IL, Monique’s service-driven career began in Ohio where she obtained her M.A. from Scripps College of Communication and M.S.S.A. from Case Western Reserve University.

Throughout her journey, Monique has worked for organizations in both public affairs and media including The Ohio House of Representatives, The Ohio Senate, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, Ohio University, WOUB, UMI, 1871, Black Girls CODE, The Chicago Defender, WTTW/WFMT, Blavity, Inc., JeffreyM Consulting, McDonald's Corporation, and the Washington, D.C. Bureau of Tribune Broadcasting.

The driving force behind Monique’s work is her desire to lead by example and help young women understand that there are plenty of opportunities to discover their talents and thrive in the STEAM industries—from graphic designer and copy editor to digital media guru. She currently serves as a board member for the National Association of Black Journalists - Chicago Chapter and Girls Like Me Project, Inc.
