Alia began her journey with Altitude Tours in 2019 as a wine tour guide and has since progressed to Key Account Manager. With a deep passion for wine, Alia’s experience working at various cellar doors in Victoria, Australia, made the Pinot Noir of Central Otago a key factor in her move to Queenstown.

Altitude Tours’ Wine Sampler Tour, launched in 2017, with one mission to be the best wine tour in the world. In 2021, that vision was realised when we won the prestigious Tripadvisor award. Our 6-hour tour, departing from Queenstown at 10 am, explores the Gibbston wine region. Guests visit four cellar doors, including renowned wineries and family-run boutiques, as well as New Zealand’s largest wine cave at Gibbston Valley Winery. During the tour, we make a relaxed stop at an award-winning winery, where guests can order lunch from the menu and enjoy the scenic surroundings.

The day concludes with a fun drive back to Queenstown, where guests select the playlist and receive a branded wine glass to commemorate their memorable and educational experience.

Our Great Wine Capital and Local Producers tour follows the journey of nature from the Gimblett Gravels to Te Mata Hills and finally to the Te Awanga coast. In every subregion, guests visit premium wineries, each forming a piece of the puzzle. The complete picture of Hawke's Bay as a Great Wine Capital is only revealed when all the elements are combined. Along the way, guests will be hosted for a producer-led tour at Te Mata Figs with an accompanying platter lunch, and they can optionally visit Arataki Honey for a tasting. Once at the final winery, Te Awanga Estate guests are hosted on a tour where owner Tim Turvey's personality shines through as boldly as the flavours in his wines.
