Mental Health in Athletes in the Time of COVID-19

Dr. Mountjoy is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University Medical School and Regional Assistant Dean of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She is also a Clinician Scientist – Sports Medicine Physician practicing at the Health and Performance Centre as the Clinical and Academic Director at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Mountjoy works for several International Sports organizations in the field of sports medicine including the International Olympic Committee (Games Group), the International Federation for aquatics (FINA), the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations and for the World Anti-Doping Agency. She is a retired elite synchronized swimmer. One of her areas of expertise is in the field of harassment and abuse in sport. She has worked in this area for the International Olympic Committee, World Health Organization, ASOIF (Association for Summer Olympic International Federations), FINA and UNICEF. She is an active advocate of the prevention of harassment and abuse in sport through the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Academy of Sport & Exercise Medicine.
