Unni Narayanan is from the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where he is a full Professor in the Departments of Surgery and the Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Toronto. His clinical practice is focused on the care of children with cerebral palsy, lower limb deformity and pediatric trauma. His research program, funded by CIHR and other agencies, focuses on the development of patient reported outcome measures, including for CP, pediatric fractures and lower limb deformity, and applying these in clinical trials, including the CHOP study, a large international prospective study on CP hip outcomes. He has served on the Board and numerous committees of the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy & Developmental Medicine, including as President; and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, currently as Chair of their Research Council. Dr. Narayanan has won numerous research and teaching awards and has traveled widely to present his research and lecture on a wide range of subjects including outcomes research, CP, trauma, and evidence based pediatric orthopaedics.
