I am a pediatric physiatrist and clinical pharmacologist at Children's Mercy - Kansas City. My goal is to both optimize and individualize the treatments we are providing for pediatric-aged patients with disabilities.
Dr. Aravamuthan is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and pediatric movement disorders specialist in the Cerebral Palsy Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the Washington University School of Medicine. She completed her research doctorate at the University of Oxford in England, medical school and pediatrics residency at Washington University in St. Louis, and child neurology and movement disorders fellowships at Boston Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital before returning to Wash U as faculty. She co-leads the Cerebral Palsy Research Network Committee on Dystonia Quality Improvement, co-founded and co-directs the Child Neurology Society Cerebral Palsy Special Interest Group, and is Vice Chair of the American Academy of Neurology Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Section. Her research is on objective dystonia diagnosis methods and on understanding the pathophysiology of dystonia following neonatal brain injury.
