Joe Stephens is the Senior Assistant Dean & Director of Working Professional & Executive MBA Programs at the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business. With a career spanning various roles, Joe oversees student affairs and program operations, ensuring academic progress and innovation/evolution for Texas McCombs’ Working Professional & Executive MBA Programs in Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Houston.

Before joining Texas McCombs in 2014, Joe served as the Assistant Dean of MBA Programs at the Trulaske College of Business, University of Missouri-Columbia. There, he directed the Full-time MBA program and played a pivotal role in launching the school’s first executive MBA program with a hybrid-delivery format. Prior experiences include brand management at Nestlé Purina and roles in admissions and student affairs at the Olin Business School, Washington University in St. Louis. Joe initiated his career at The University of Texas at Austin as a Greek Affairs Advisor. He holds a B.S. in Agricultural Education - Business/Industry from the University of Missouri, an M.A. in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University, and an M.B.A. from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. Joe actively contributes to the academic community, serving on the Executive MBA Council Board of Trustees and participating in various non-profit boards and committees. He and his family call Austin, Texas, their home.

Today, Jeff serves as a key leader at 12twenty, where he partners with colleges and employers to harness data-driven insights that elevate student success and career outcomes. His impact also extends globally—most recently through a 4-year USAID project in Africa, where he established university career centers designed to strengthen workforce development and fuel economic growth.
