Evolving problems into business opportunities with sustainable solutions.

Join us this year on Tuesday 27th of April from 2.00 pm - 3.30 pm for another fantastic Sustainability Matters on-line webinar. You will be hearing from Abigail Forsyth, KeepCup Cofounder and Managing Director, who will share with you how she seized the business opportunity of a waste problem (disposable cups ending up in landfill) to create a robust and thriving business that offers a fantastic sustainable solution; the reusable coffee cup. KeepCups are now used in more than 65 countries around the world, diverting millions of disposable cups from landfill every day. They are locally manufactured, in Australia for the Australian Market, with their Australian office being solar powered since 2015 and the company committed to being part of the circular economy.

You will also hear from three local businesses/organisations: Hiruni Peiris, co-owner of Northcote Bakeshop and founder of the WANGIM Cup program; Alex Kung, co-owner of Reducing our Footprint and Fairfield Primary school.

Alex Küng
Reducing our Footprint Co-Founder
We are "Reducing our Footprint" (aka ROF), a social enterprise that guides urban dwellers towards a more sustainable lifestyle. Our sustainability journey started 5 years ago in Shanghai, where we faced the reality of waste (plastic, food, chemicals) every day. It has been a wake-up call. When we settled in Australia, we decided to completely embrace a sustainable lifestyle and create a guide to help other busy people do the same! Today we provide business trainings & online classes, team building activities and dedicated business solutions to reduce water, waste & energy, save costs and meet environmental targets.

Abigail Forsyth
KeepCup Co-Founder and Managing Director
Abigail is a leader in the global campaign to promote sustainability.
Known worldwide for its bright, bold and instantly recognisable reusable cups, KeepCup is a global campaign for reuse. Since launching the world’s first barista-standard reusable cup 10 years ago, KeepCup is now embraced by reusers the world over, diverting millions of single-use cups daily.
KeepCup is in business for better - a certifiedB Corporation, living wage employer and member of 1% for the Planet, donating at least 1% of global revenue to environmental causes. KeepCup is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2025.
Following a successful career as a solicitor at a boutique Melbourne law firm, Abigail and her brother Jamie set up their own chain of cafes across the city. Alarmed by the amount of disposable packaging being wasted, Abigail started her search for a more sustainable and
environmentally conscious way to serve food, and the concept of KeepCup soon became a reality.
Abigail has opened offices and warehouses in London (UK) and Los Angeles (USA) to service growing consumer demand in over 76 countries around the world, but the business has stayed loyal to its roots. KeepCup’s HQ is located in the Melbourne suburb of Clifton Hill, where Abigail lives with her family.
